Rev. Joseph Perry, Jr., a dedicated servant of God, serves as the esteemed Pastor of Jerusalem African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in the vibrant community of Clinton, MD. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Rev.Perry grew up in the church. As a young child, he and his siblings were carried to church regularly by their mother and grandmother. Both of whom directed church choirs and played both the piano and organ at numerous churches in
Baltimore City and the surrounding area.
Rev. Perry accepted Christ while in college at Virginia Tech where he received his BS in Accounting. Upon returning to the Baltimore area after college, he embarked on a journey of service, blending his passion for social justice with his deep faith in God. Rev. Perry accepted his call to preach in 2013 while attending Greater Mt. Nebo AME Church in Bowie, MD. under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Jonathan L. Weaver. Rev. Perry completed the qualifications
for his MDiv in 2020 at the prestigious Wesley Theologcial Seminary. Known for his compassionate heart and unwavering commitment to uplifting the marginalized, Rev. Perry has been a guiding light in his congregation and beyond, leading initiatives to combat poverty, promote education, and foster reconciliation in a divided world.
Under Rev. Perry’s leadership, and with the outstanding help of his ministerial staff and faithful members, Jerusalem AME Church in Clinton, MD has flourished as a beacon of hope and transformation. Through Jerusalem’s outreaches and intiatives, Rev. Perry hopes to draw people from all walks of life to experience the power of God’s love.
